Discover Refresh Cafe in Bicton Heath

If you're searching for a cozy spot to unwind, enjoy a delicious meal, or grab a quick coffee, Refresh Cafe in Bicton Heath is a must-visit destination. Nestled away on Clayton Way, this charming cafe not only offers a delightful menu but also supports an admirable cause, as all profits go to a local hospice.

Step inside and you’ll be welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere infused with the rich aromas of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. The interior is adorned with cheerful decor, making it a perfect place for casual meet-ups or a quiet reprieve from the busyness of daily life.

One standout feature of Refresh is its mouthwatering selection of homemade cakes. As one enthusiastic patron, Gina Brown, puts it, “The cakes are gorgeous and big portions.” Every slice is generous and artfully crafted, ensuring that every bite is a little piece of heaven. Beyond the sweet treats, the cafe also boasts a quality menu of lunch options including jacket potatoes, gourmet sandwiches, and fresh salads that are satisfying and nourishing. Pam Watson, a regular visitor, appreciates that "everything is very fresh," and her favorite breakfast is served until 11 a.m.—perfect for those lazy mornings.

For those traveling with furry friends, Refresh is dog-friendly, allowing you to enjoy your meal without leaving your pet behind. The rich coffee blends offered here will awaken your senses, making every sip enjoyable, as noted by Roxy Walsh, who also highlights the lovely and peaceful surroundings, ideal for a relaxing stop. Plus, with ample parking available, it's easy to swing by, whether you're coming back from a trip or just enjoying a day out.

The cafe's enchanting outdoor area features large wooden Gruffalo sculptures, making it a perfect spot for families with children. As noted by Elizabeth Allsop, it’s not just a cafe but a delightful experience, with beautiful gardens and a children's literary character sculpture trail. This combination of delightful offerings makes Refresh more than just a coffee stop; it's a place where great food meets warm companionship and community spirit.

Whether you're enjoying a light meal, indulging in afternoon tea (which should be ordered in advance for larger groups), or simply savoring a slice of cake, Refresh Cafe promises a wonderful experience that you won't soon forget. As Nicola Laurie sums it up, the staff are “friendly and welcoming,” making every visit feel like a little retreat.

Lovely little cafe in peaceful surroundings - the cake was fantastic and the slices were very generous! Dogs are welcome inside and out. Very easy to find and plenty of parking - we stopped in on the way home from Wales and it was the perfect place for a rest stop.

Great coffee and a good selection of very nice homemade cakes. They also offer light meals and do afternoon tea which does have to be ordered in advance Booking isn't required but would be advisable during peek times or tor a large group of people to ensure a table is available. In the grounds outside the coffee shop there are large wooden gruffalo sculptures that will appeal to young children

Lovely cafe set in a peaceful location. Great for coffee and cake and they also do nice lunches, jacket potatoes, salads and sandwiches. Staff were friendly and welcoming. And profits all go to a fantastic cause. And it’s dog friendly

I visit this cafe very regularly and always get a nice meal. Breakfast is served until 11 a.m., and there is a good basic lunch menu with a choice of jacket potatoes, salads, sandwiches or baguettes, paninis, lighter bites, and cakes. You can buy items to take away. They also do afternoon tea. Everything is very fresh and the staff are lovely. You can see the menu in advance on the Refresh website online. It is very busy over the lunchtime period so it is best to book a table. The room is large and airy with a large outside seating area open when the weather is better. There are 2 accessible toilets and there is a good amount of parking. The front entrance is easily accessible by wheelchair with automatic doors. The room can be quite noisy if you have trouble hearing when there is a lot of background noise. It is quieter on the table near to the main entrance. Profits go to support the Hospice.

Stopped off on our journey home from North Wales. Don't miss this because it's a Hospice, it's lovely and worth the visit for the wonderful cakes, quality drinks and excellent service.... and the best thing is that the profits go to the Hospice. Plenty of parking. Beautifully kept gardens with a children's literary character sculpture trail. Spotlessly clean and you can eat in, in the covered outside area or in the gardens. There's a wonderful sense of peace as well with the bird song. Definitely don't miss this place it's only a small detour from the main road networks.

Lovely food and staff and better than giving money to a company chain. Very fresh food and great cakes. A short walk from the Oxon Park & ride (across the fields if you wish)
